Requirements Overview
The purpose of the Management Reporting (MR) process is to produce the management reports necessary to comply with Federal and State regulations and with County policies. These reports provide information to be used by DPSS personnel for monitoring Eligibility Worker, system and fiscal performance as well as other activities. MR required the creation of an intranet-based welfare income fraud application. Previously, Welfare fraud was discovered manually by comparing aid recipients income reported by EDD and income reported by recipients in the LEADER welfare system. Because of the backlog, federal and state sanctions on LA County were imminent. On a quarterly basis, the Web-based application would automate the process of comparing incomes. An interface for entering investigation results was required.
